Maureen FitzSimons's achievements when she was a teenager in America (which we refer to as Maureen O'Hara today) would have definitely put her into the child-prodigy category. These traits were natural for a child born in Ireland, surrounded by gifted parents and a loving family. Maureen was born in Ranelagh - a suburb of Dublin in Ireland, on 17 August 1920.
